Therapist Directory The following Therapist Directory is not a recommendation it is intended as information only, the DMAA has no liability for any actions from any of the listed persons in this directory. Following the guidelines of the german dornfinder (www.dornfinder.org) all listed therapists in this directory are recommended (trained) by an authorized Dorn Method Instructor and have demonstrated a sufficient skill level during a basic seminar and a review worshop or during an advanced seminar and actual practice experience. The recommending Dorn Method Instructor verifies this by forwarding the name of qualified therapists to the DMAA board. To be listed in this directory simply contact any authorized Dorn Method Instructor to get the necessary training and recommendation which should be send to the DMAA for approval. The directory is free of any charge (at this time) however any voluntary donation towards the maintenace and administration costs is highly appreciated. A competence link page in addition to a basic listing is available for a small yearly fee. (Please contact DMAA for more information) Although a basic Dorn Method Training may be sufficient to practice the therapy safely on patients the DMAA decided to list only advanced level pratitioners to establish a minimum standard for the convenience and safety of the public. What indicates a good Dorn Method Practitioner?
A good DORN METHOD Therapist should have a certificate showing that he was properly trained by an authorized Lecturer.
The Therapy must include explanations, leg length control and correction, gentle treatment without causing pain and the teaching of self help exercises as well as explanation of possible causes and wrong movement habits. The patient should be given instructive hand-outs for their homework, ask for it!
Treatment fees may vary but should be reasonable.
The Therapist should be available for further guidance and advice.
The Therapist must maintain the highest ethical and moral standards.
The Therapist should not be in a rush and have sufficient time for the patient. (A usual first consultation may take one hour or longer!)
The Therapist should give all requested information following any questions from patients before the therapy and must not make any unethical claims about the effectiveness of the Dorn Method nor discredit any other therapy or treatment.
The Therapist must not act against the advice of a physician and make the patient believe that his therapy is the answer for all concerns.
The sincere desire to help should be the first concern before any material consideration.
The Therapist should be skilled and have some familiarity with general medicine concepts, anatomy and physiology. ..
